Charlotte and Beau Get Married! The Sketchbook Edition

And so we are married. I still can't really believe it.

We're both pretty exhausted from it all, and the photos from our wedding aren't ready yet, so, as a bit of a teaser, here are two sketches we included in our wedding program:

It probably won't surprise you that virtually every aspect of our wedding had special meaning for us, from the colour of the tablecloths, to the venue itself, to the tiniest brooch. Beau decided it would be fun to give our guests explanations for some of our special little symbols and choices.

The finished product was a joint effort. Our mutual blogger friend, Anne M. Bray, did the sketches, Beau and I took photos of the details, I wrote about those details, and Beau put it all together in the form you see here.

It was a hit! Guests said this was the first wedding program they'd seen that they wanted to keep, and Beau and I were happy that they were able to get a better sense of all the thought we'd put into our special day.

That's all I've got for you now. Stay tuned for more in the days and weeks to come.

(I'm sharing this with Flashback Fashion Friday on Jeans and a Teacup, I Will Wear What I Like on Not Dressed As LambStyle Diary by Osy, and Visible Mondays on Not Dead Yet.)

    1. Thanks. We added other fun things to the program too, like 7 Degrees of Kevin Bacon for us and all our guests.

  3. It's all these little personal details that make it YOUR day. What a great idea to share them with the guests. It's also sharing Beau's chartmaking ability! We drew our own design on our programme but nothing like this.
I love that Beau had as many little touches as you.
Anne did a lovely job and it has a vintage feel being drawn.

    1. It was so important to us that this not be a "bride's day" kind of a wedding. It was OUR day, not my day. So, yeah, Beau contributed a lot of his ideas, including our little chart book.

  4. So, so lovely. You both put so much thought into your wedding and it shows. I love that you have explained the special items' meanings to us as well as to your real life guests. Superb and thoughtful, with great artwork by Anne.

    1. It seemed a shame to put all the thought into things and not have our guests know about it. Anne was a dear, eh?

    1. Anne's fun because she's one of the few people out there whose interests encompass both mine and Beau's. She follows both of us online. It was Beau's idea to as her to do the sketches.
