Flippy Purple Party Frock

Beau calls any skirt or dress that's fuller than an A-line "flippy." The term is growing on me. So this is a flippy purple party frock.

I got all dressed up in my flippy dress to go to a party... and then posed in front of garbage. There's a metaphor in that somewhere but I'll leave it to you to find it.

I'm only half-joking when I say that one of my mottoes, when dressing well, is, "What would Jessica wear?" Murder She Wrote is my television version of comfort food. Having been raised by hippies, the genteel world of Jessica Fletcher is like a foreign planet for me and I like it. And Jessica Fletcher often dresses extremely well, making "lady-like" appealing, and showing me that one need not expose a lot of skin to look great. One can choose to look classy instead of overtly sexy and I like that choice. The lines of her dress here remind me of mine, and that makes me happy.

This is the closest that a  person with a back injury comes to a happy dance.

The magazines repeatedly inform me that short women shouldn't wear skirts or dresses below the knee. Apparently, shorter skirts make me look taller. But why would I want to look taller? I have no problem with being short and I have no problem with this dress.
